Paver Sealing Aftercare Guide
Professional Tips from Pressure WashKing
At Pressure WashKing, we want your freshly sealed pavers to stay beautiful and protected for years to come. Below is a complete care guide to help you understand what to expect after your sealing service and how to maintain the surface moving forward.
What to Expect Immediately After Sealing
Curing Time:
The sealer begins to dry within a few hours, but full curing typically takes 24 to 72 hours depending on weather, humidity, and the number of coats applied.
Initial Appearance:
Some surfaces may appear glossier, darker, or more vibrant. A temporary haze or light streaking may occur during the curing process, especially in humid conditions. This is normal and will fade as the sealer sets.
Tire Marks:
Avoid parking on sealed surfaces for 24 hours. Hot tires can cause marks or impressions before the sealer fully bonds to the surface.
What to Avoid for the First 24 Hours
To ensure proper bonding and performance of the sealer, avoid the following:
Driving or heavy foot traffic
Dragging furniture or heavy equipment
Pressure washing or rinsing the surface
Using rugs, mats, or potted plants on the sealed area
Sprinklers or irrigation contact
Oil or chemical spills
If rain is in the forecast within the first 2 hours after service, we’ll work with you to schedule your project during clear weather conditions.
Long-Term Maintenance Tips
Keep it Clean:
Regularly sweep or blow off debris to prevent buildup. Hose down or lightly rinse the surface as needed.
Use the Right Cleaners:
Avoid bleach, degreasers, acidic cleaners, and DIY paver cleaning products. These can weaken or break down the sealant.
Treat Spills Quickly:
Oil, rust, fertilizer, and grease can stain even sealed pavers. Prompt cleaning reduces the chance of permanent damage.
Algae and Mildew:
Florida’s humidity can cause algae or mildew over time, especially in shaded or damp areas. This is environmental and not a sign of sealant failure. If needed, request a professional soft wash or maintenance service.
When to Reseal
We recommend scheduling a maintenance recoat every 2–3 years to preserve protection and extend your warranty from 3 years to 5 years, color depth, and surface integrity. Our multi-coat system can extend the lifespan of your surface when maintained properly.
As a Pressure WashKing customer, you’ll receive priority scheduling and discounted pricing for future resealing services.
